The National Day: The Day of Solidarity, Unity and Honor

Every December 18th, Qatar celebrates their National Day in commemoration of the historic day in 1878 when Shaikh Jassim, the founder of the State of Qatar, succeeded his father, Shaikh Muhammad Bin Thani, as the ruler and led the country toward unity.

This national occasion emphasizes their identity and history, embodies the ideals and visionary aspirations that this country was founded on, and pays homage to the great men and women who participated in building our nation.

December 18th is the day they remember how our national unity was achieved and how they became a distinct, and respected nation out of a society torn apart by conflicting tribal loyalties, devoid of security and order, and overrun by invaders.

here are some graphics they designed for this amazing occasion..

Iraqi Journalist Throws Shoe at Bush...its about time!!??

Bush made a surprise visit to Iraq and during a news conference an Iraqi guy threw a pair of shoes at Bush! loOoOoOol!!! its about time someone did that to this man...

“This is the end!” shouted the man, later identified as Muntadar al-Zeidi, a correspondent for Al-Baghdadia television, an Iraqi-owned station based in Cairo, Egypt.

Bush ducked (like a chicken) both shoes as they whizzed past his head and landed with a thud against the wall behind him. 7asafa it missed!!
LOL!! WHAT BUSH ARE WE AFRAID OF A LITTLE SHOE???man!! what a coward !!!!
kids are facing life without our arms and legs because of you!!!! and you are afraid of a shoe??? shame on you and shame on those who elected you twice!! yal chicken!!

Check out the video its extremely funny.

but you know what was the strange this , it seems to me that the secret service don’t really give a crap about this man anymore!!! it took them a while to understand what’s going on...lOoOOoL it was sooo freakin funny here are some photos..enjoy coz I sure did =p

Do we need commercials to remind us with Islamic Ethics??

Have Mercy campaigns... do we really need commercials to remind us of how we should be as Muslims?

I guess we do... people actually noticed that we have changed and we need something to remind us of how we should treat people and how we handle things?

Did Muslims forget Islamic ethics? Do we need reminders? Did life change us so badly that we actually need to be reminded every now and then?

it is so sad to see these commercials because they only indicate that we are becoming monsters that we need the TV to teach us how to become more of a human being!!

this is an anti abuse/racism campaign and thought I would share it, in case anybody forgot what a normal human being should not be like ...There are three different versions ..

Please remember what Islam is really about

LONG TIME...

As you know the year is coming to an end so I was looking and going through my old blogs….man I was funny!! I believe I still am =p …

but it is just that I don’t have much time like before… don’t worry about me I am still soooo freaking funny that I actually shock myself…

It has been a tuff couple of weeks with university and all, but as you know me I am a fighter :)

I can’t wait to have my 2009 resolution list ready … I am not sure if I will have some new stuff to add to how I live my life… coz there is not enough time:)

But I really want a lot of things not materialistic stuff more like ambitions & dreams and hopes, one day… one day everything I want will happen (inshallah).

A message from my best friend

Today is the 1st of December. Ya3ni 31 days left for the end of this year. With all its ups and downs I think it was a good year. The ups made us happy and the downs taught us lessons. I always have faith in God that no matter how dark it gets or how much it rains we will still see the sunshine after that. I believe that everything happens for a reason, we could find out that reason now, after a month, or even after years. The important thing is that we do what we have to do and have faith in God. God will never let us down J

Let’s hope that next year will be even better. That what ever we encounter from life will help us understand it more, so we can make better decisions in the future and raise the quality of our lives.
I guess we should start writing down our resolutions for 2009 :P how many of you accomplished at least 3 of last years resolutions?

(If you’re wondering, I didn’t go kookoo, I just woke up in a spiritual mood this morning and I thought I’d share it with you)

Love,
Amal Tahboub
